This year, I made it into the "Costume Couture" category of Student Runway. There were 63 garments in 5 different categories - Costume Couture, Ready to Wear mens, Ready to Wear womens, Contemporary evening wear and Eco Design.
The students came from all across Western Australia from every institution that offers Fashion as a course. There were 3 students chosen to represent Curtin University in each category - 15 in total over 5 categories.
After each category, 5 finalists were announced.
Of the 5 finalists - 2 grand finalists were announced and given a prize pack which included a digital camera, a ticket to the West Australian Fashion Awards and the student's garment being shown at the Awards.
10 Students were chosen as grand finalists and will be showing at the West Australian Fashion Awards, for a chance to win a STUDIO SPACE in the CBD for 6months and a mentorship for 12 months.
After some drama that involved people being drunk and some miscommunicational errors, I am now officially a Grand Finalist and will be showing at the West Australian Fashion Awards!
