I was going through photos of the new show Angry Boys and noticed one of the characters - Tim Okazaki is wearing a Tshirt that I've made. Happy times! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angry_Boys
So as I mentioned earlier in the year, there won't be much posts on what I'm doing this year as it'll be kept under wraps. Just in case if anybody reads this and thinks I've died, I haven't, and thought perhaps it's time for a quick update.
Above are some recent press images and I'm currently organising a photoshoot for the latest womenswear collection that I've designed and and currently designing the menswear range now. Stay posted.
So I've started testing and investigating how I can work with wool to create the shoulder piece (pictured in the illustration on the right) I'm still deciding whether or not I like it "natural" coloured or if i should dye it black...
If you have time.. and you're in Melbourne, check out the Manstyle Exhibition on at Fed Square. It's a history of men's fashion over the last 200 years.
This Melbourne/Sydney trip was somewhat an eye opener in more ways than I could've imagined. It was a much needed trip as I was a bit up in the air about what I am going to do in 2012, but now, with somewhat more of a direction, I feel more settled and can finally get on with things. I generally don't let things get to me, but 2012 - the apparent apocalypse and all, really really played on my mind. (not the apocalypse - maybe I should do a Mayan inspired collection...? no.)
So alas, I have decided what I have decided and if all goes to plan, I'm sure I'll be posting updates here, there and everywhere.
I'd also like to Thank Perth Fashion Festival and L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival for sending me over.
As a quick preliminary project, we were put into groups of 4 and given a material to use to change a "space" we thought it'd be interesting to recreate something coming out of a cacoon and leaving it's "residue" behind as it leaves... we chose to show our work through a video installation.. and there it is above. It was a quick 1 week project to get our minds back into uni mode!!
I started this blog in the first week of university to document my journey and to write about uni works and things that inspire me.
3 years on - it's still going strong. Now you can follow my progress into the "working world" of fashion and wherever I end up, or whatever I do, I'll be sure to write/bitch/cry/laugh about it on this blog.
